Comparison
Hilda AI vs. Bland AI
Bland AI is a well-built developer platform with genuinely transparent pricing, per-minute rates that include speech and language model costs rather than billing them separately. You get an API and the tools to build a voice agent. Bland has started publishing hospitality-specific landing pages and blog content (a hospitality page, restaurant and hotel buyer's-guide posts), which reads like content built to rank for those searches rather than a new packaged product; we found no evidence of a native Toast, Square or Clover integration shipped by Bland itself, only Bland's own content describing other vendors' integrations. What you still do not get from Bland is a restaurant product: the prompts, the escalation rules, the POS integration and the hospitality edge cases remain yours to write.

| POS integrations | Toast, Clover, ready to use | Build them yourself against the API |

Compared against Bland AI's published pricing and product pages, originally verified July 2026, pricing unchanged. Updated 2026-08-14: bland.ai was unreachable directly from this environment (network egress blocked); we checked, via search, whether Bland's new hospitality landing page (bland.ai/conversational-ai-for-hospitality) and restaurant/hotel blog posts (published 2026-07-08/09) represented a new packaged product with POS integration. What we found instead was Bland's own content describing other vendors' Toast/Square/Clover integrations (a roundup-style post), not a Bland-built integration; no independent source describes Bland's own platform as natively POS-connected. Treated as a content/marketing push, not a product change; check bland.ai directly before deciding. Updated 2026-08-18: still unreachable this run (same session-wide egress block). Bland closed a $50M Series C (2026-06-16), surpassing $100M total funding, and is publicly positioning toward long (30–45 min), high-stakes calls for regulated enterprise industries on its own in-house voice models, search-corroborated only, but consistent with (and reinforces) the "developer platform, not a packaged venue product" framing above.
Choose Bland AI if…
- You have engineers and want to own the agent end to end
- Your call flows are unusual enough that no packaged product fits
- You are building voice into your own software, not answering a venue's phone
Choose Hilda if…
- Nobody at your venue is going to maintain a prompt or an API integration
- You want it answering calls correctly this week, not after a build
- You want one predictable monthly bill rather than a platform fee plus minutes
